Cyclone lathe retro fit

Post by Depronman » Mon Nov 01, 2021 9:11 am

I have just bought a cyclone lathe vintage 1998 that has had the electronics cabinet removed at some time in the past
It is equipped with two off Parker Digiplan BT30 drivers and servos on the two axis
From reading the online manual for the BT30 drivers I can see that they are +/-10 volts not step/dir
The servos have encoders on them which connect to the BT30 drive
I also have the original transformer to power the drives / servos 65volts AC

Would the kflop and kanolgue control these servos ?
The spindle is to be controlled with a 4kw vfd which I also want under kflop control for both stop/start and speed
The spindle as an encoder which I need to connect to kflop for threading
The lathe as a 8 position ATC made by Duplomatic. Model number BD80 8/10-110/50
Will kflop control this ATC ?
I would like to have a MPG for axis control

Sorry for so many questions but this is my first time with servos, I have always used steppers

Cheers. Paul

Hi Paul,

That should be possible to be driven by KFLOP+Kanalog with possibly one or more Konnects for additional IO.

See this simple test to check if the amplifiers can be driven with +/-10V analog.

There would also need to be differential encoder signals for feedback.

You would need to program any ATC sequence.

The MPG should be a wired type with quadrature encoder signals such as this.
