C program for XYZ touch plate?

Post by Tim G » Wed Jan 13, 2021 10:56 pm

I was curious if anyone has a C program they'd be willing to share for an XYZ touch plate like the Maker's Guide. Sadly, I don't know C. I have tweaked a couple of short programs to park my router and position it for my 4th axis, but that's about it. I did find a program after watching a YouTube video, but it was a bit overboard for what I'm looking for. I'm hoping to find one that just starts out in the hole, finds XY zero by touching the edges of the hole, then retracts far enough to move over the flat portion of the plate to Z-zero. I'll always be locating it on the front left corner of the workpiece, so it would just need to go back and to the right a bit. The program I found on YouTube touched all sides of the plate first to determine tool width before moving on to the corner finding portion inside the hole. Just took too long in my opinion. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
