Interface help

Post by Kmac » Fri Apr 13, 2018 2:10 pm

I have been doing some research but I suspect I am still going to come across as one who has not. So please bear with me and I appreciate any help or suggestions.

A lot of what I have read goes over my head as I am not a machinist or machine designer or engineer.

I have a cnc router that I am using to make guitar parts. I use Mach 3 and am comfortable with the software.

Simply put I think I need a better trajectory planner. I have Gecko G540 driving my motors which are simple stepper type and open loop.

Again I have been doing some research but Would appreciate any suggestions to get my problem solved.

My question is this. After purchasing KFlop how do I connect to my G540 and install the plug in? Is there much coding in this case.

Hi Kmac,

If you need a better Trajectory Planner you should use KMotionCNC not Mach3. If you use our KFLOP with Mach3 it will be doing the Trajectory Planning.

You might download our Software and test KMotionCNC in Simulation mode to see if it can simulate your GCode.

To use KFLOP you would need to make a custom cable to connect the Step/Dir pins on KFLOP JP7 to your Gecko G540. Here are links that describe the Step/Dir on KFLOP and the connectors and pinouts on KFLOP.
