RTCP Configuration 2
Tom, i need to be able to set the pivot to chuck length depending on the spindle we use. I downloaded 4.35b, the G code interpreter dll and kinematics txt from the Forum. I have 4.35b installed in it's own directory and copied over all my relevant setup so still having access to the original 4.34 ve...

RTCP Configuration 1
Tom, I attach 2 pictures of our re-configured 5 axis head. The spindle centre line is now in line with the C rotation. There is now only 1 pivot length which is A axis centre of rotation to spindle collet = 0 tool length. In the pictures the X linear axis is +ve into the photo towards the cabinets. ...

5 Axis Kinematics
Tom, Having looked through your recommended 5 axis kinematic arrangement, the Wiki entry and the latest RTCP posts I unfortunately have a few questions : Q1 : are there any pictorial diagrams of 5 axis gimbal CB and 5 axis gimbal ab as I think the differenceiis the position of C0 either around Y or ...

Re: General Configuration Questions
Tom,
Thanks for the reply.
Your pointers to the correct documentation pages helped.
Also reading the KMotionCNC manual page by page explained the versatile functionality.
Regards,
Tim

General Configuration Questions
Tom, I have a few questions regarding KMotion and KMotionCNC. The KFlop and Kanalog are connected to XYZ main axes with an additional AB axes on the end of the Y axis which at present are used in a 3+2 configuration. The machines are used for cutting free form surfaces. I did send a picture in a pre...

RTCP KINEMATICS
Tom,
I have attached a picture of our 3+2 head.
Do you have 5 axis RTCP kinematics that support this configuration or what would be involved in creating ?
Regards,
TIm

Re: Open Loop Command
Thanks Tom.
I now understand VFF = DAC counts with PID gains all zero.

Open Loop Command
Tom, We have a linear axis with linear scale position feedback driven by an analogue servo drive and brushless motor with velocity feedback using +/10 volt command input. Our initial setup would be to adjust the amplifier volts/rpm so that 9 volts analogue command input = our desired maximum axis ve...
