Re: Spindle Interface II
Hi Tom, I took your advice and am working on using Channel 6 for controlling the spindle. I've started modifying the init file as step 1 but have a question and issue. First, I'm not sure I have the OutputChan0 and 1 set correctly (lines 361 and 362. Second, the program validates correctly but won't...

Re: Spindle Interface II
Hi Tom, So far so good. I need to play with the adjustment pot a little but basically at 128 I got 5 volts and at 255 I got a little over 10 volts. All this time I thought the C6 was using PWM. I tried to take the next step and modify the canned spindle programs to drive the spindle but didn't get v...

Spindle Interface II
Hi Tom, You helped me get my spindle up and running a few months ago. Everything worked fairly well except that as the spindle would run the speed would slowly decrease. It looked like something was slowly heating up in my C6 interface board that was causing the problem. I contacted the CNC4PC custo...

Spindle/KmotionCNC
Hi Tom, One other question about spindle speed. On the PC screen of Kmotion, if I command the spindle to a speed, the commanded speed shows up in the top box next to the letter S above the Spindle Slider. However, the lower box says zero. If I move the slider up or down the speed of the spindle chan...

Re: Jogging Delay With KmotionCNC
Is it consistent or only happens sometimes? It does it all of the time. A quick tap and release of the jog arrow (slow speed) moves the axis .25-.375. If you click and hold the button down it appears to travel for a greater distance, .5-.75. The fast jog arrow tap and release is similar, .25-.375 b...

Jogging Delay With KmotionCNC
Hi Tom, When adding the spindle to my CNC a while back I also upgraded on old Windows 7 IBM laptop to a newer Windows 10 Dell laptop. I now notice a delay when releasing any of the jog buttons. On my old computer the jog buttons seemed to work virtually instantaneous when pressed or released. With t...

Re: Spindle Interface
Hi Tom,
That worked. Took a little bit of thinking for a copy and paste programmer like me but I finally figured it out.

Closing Kmotion CNC
Hi Tom, With my previous laptop running KmotionCNC I was able to click the X in the upper right hand corner of the window and it would close. On my new laptop I get a pop up window when I click the X asking if I want to exit KmotionCNC. I remembering changing a setting on my previous PC to eliminate...

Re: Spindle Interface
Hi Tom, Thanks, that was it. I must have changed that line when I was getting my spindle working and forgot to change it back. Next question, if I change the slider while running a program that new slider multiplier does not reset when I start the next program. How can I get the slider to reset to 1...

Re: Spindle Interface
Hi Tom, What is printed on the KMotion.exe Console when you move the slider and the Spindle stops? Today's issue is slightly different. If I start my spindle out at 12,000 RPM (50832 counts/sec) and click on the slider the spindle doesn't stop but immediately slows to 6000 RPM even though the consol...
