RTCP Kinematics
Tom, Can you please check 4.35d Kmotion CNC kinematics .txt works with a varying pivot to chuck length entry. I have just run the attached program that should keep the tool tip at a constant zero position. If i change the pivot to chuck length entry in the kinematics.txt file attached it does not ma...

Open Loop Tuning
Tom, I thought i understood your reply to this question but i obvously do not. With the machine motion control issues i want to check the velocity response of the axes and go back to the beginning. I have attached the configuration for the Y axis. I have attached the step response configured how i t...

Re: 4.35d, Index ip, RTCP advice
Tom, The information below is from memory as I am now at home. The input gain in the init file is scaled so that the resolution is 1 micron. The linear axis feedback is the emulated quadrature output from the Stober direct drive lead screw drives. The rotary angular axis drives are harmonic drive ac...

Re: 4.35d, Index ip, RTCP advice
Tom,
I have only just got to use the machine late this evening.
I was worried about your comment of not using high enough velocities to test the machine.
I have attached motion plots for your comments please.
Tim

Re: 4.35d, Index ip, RTCP advice
Tom, Thanks again for the prompt reply. I will download 4.35d and try. My rotary axis encoder input was confused but just clarify : Encoder index+ to ch5A+, encoder index- to ch5A- maps to bit 38 on KFlop ? My logic for rotary axis velocity was the same as your reply below but we do have a shorter p...

4.35d, Index ip, RTCP advice
Tom, Thanks for last weeks answers but I now have a few more queries. Does 4.35d pass a new pivot to chuck length within Kinematics.txt through to KMotion CNC in this without a rebuild or I have misunderstood the version change log ? Our A and B rotary axis have single ended index pulses. But 38 = A...

Fusion post, G93, limits, 4.35d
Tom, I have a few questions please : Is there a Fusion 360 multi-axis post available for Dynomotion ? I have modified the standard rs274d for 5 axis and it seems to work but this has been arrived at by experimentation and reading the 260 page HSM post processor guide. I still have queries about the ...

Re: Read Failed Auto Disconnect
Tom, The KFlop rev 1.1 now seems to remain connected as it has been on test on 2 laptops all week. It was set up as USB power (J3 on) and KFlop only. I don't know what was happening last week or before. However the problem of the latest KFlop and another FTDI device remains on the 5 axis computer. F...

Read Failed Auto Disconnect
Tom, I have our original KFlop on the bench connected to a laptop with J3 installed to try and isolate the usb disconnect issue. This is why I purchased a second KFlop and Kanalog. This new combination initially would not connect on our 5 axis development machine until I unplugged another FTDI RS485...

RTCP Configuration 3
Tom, With reference to my earlier post this morning RTCP Configuration 2. Partially my own fault as i was not looking at the 435b directory. Having flashed the KFlop i am definitely working with 4.35b version. However if i use the Forum Kinematics.txt as is then KMotionCNC loads and runs. If i edit ...
