Subject: Unexpected Motion Buffer Starved
Tom,
I'm getting an oddball at the moment. Whenever I try and take a heavy cut I am getting the above. The max following error is set high on all axis and is not being exceeded. Initially I thought it was either vibration or dodgy usb. I've moved control box off machine to eliminate any vibration issues and changed usb cables. If it was limit switches or estop I would expect a different error. Any suggestions on which avenue you would suggest to explore 1st for troubleshooting.
Thanks in advance

Richard

Hi Richard,

Hmmm that's bad.

Can you run KMotion at the same time and see if anything is printed on the Console Screen?

Does it still occur with the Spindle off (dry run)?

Are you running Mach3 or KMotionCNC?

What version are you running?

Thanks
TK

Tom,
Machine dry runs ok, error occurs in both kmotion and mach3. I'm running version 4.25. I'll check the console screen again in the morning but I haven't seen anything before.

Tom,
Checked the console screen and discovered I was getting various limit switch errors. I bypassed my limits and problem solved. I've not troubleshooted to the root of the problem but suspect a bouncing switch on the spindle limits.
Once again many thanks for your help, much appreciated.
Richard
