Subject: Simulation question
Is there a way to stop the simulation during generation. I like the rotary axis view but cant find a way to stop it other than using single block or inserting a M2 where I would like to stop?

I would really like a toggle Run/Stop button. Then I could clear the screen and run from there. Would make it easier to view details or capture a screen view.

added a photo to the Photo section of a "run from here" screen capture

Mac

Hi Mac,

Simulation normally runs too fast to be able to stop it at a specific point.

You might sprinkle in m0 pauses also with block delete /mo to stop at sections when block delete is off

But point noted.

Hi Mac,

I also just remembered if you select the simulate checkbox then you can use the Cycle Start/Halt Button to run/stop.

Cool! thanks never even tried the start/halt, oops!

Pressing Start (or run) I get this popup :
Soft Limit X - Rapid Traverse
Soft Limits disabled for remainder of Simulation

this is a slight issue how do I avoid it?
I am not attached to Kflop just proving out programs visually.
where are the soft limits setup? I never use them, I have limit and home proxs.

Mac

Hi Mac,

The Soft Limits are set within KFLOP as an Axis channel parameter.  Of course if no KFLOP is present they are not available.  I think we had this bug in a previous version where Soft Limits were not being disabled if no KFLOP is present.  What Version are you using?  I can't reproduce the problem.

KMotion431s
I had just downloaded it and was checking it out.

Hi Mac,

I found a potential bug - Coordinated Axis Motions were not defined with no KFLOP.  Please try this patch for Version 4.31s.  Copy to your C:\KMotion431s\KMotion\Release directory and see if it fixes the problem.

Hi Mac,

That is a good question.  I may be wrong but I believe if you choose your angular axes appropriately and possibly origins appropriately then you should not have to.  The fundamental idea is that the system is built with a tool pointing in the Z direction (like a 3 axis mill) with the ABC angles at zero and then the stock rotates.  A about the X Axis, B about the Y axis, and C about the Z axis.

But you should be able to define tools with different orientations by substituting the VRML 3D tool file.  See:

I tried "Art of Illusion" but the current version 3 does not work with your version 2 reader. (can not find Art of Illusion 2.0) Thought I could manipulate the text but not having luck with that either. Tried "at3d2-12-3" to convert and save as but the file output is not formatted the same. Not sure how you created your .wrl files.
Sure you cant make them stl files? Lot more universal. Always something in this business, lol
Thanks
Mac

Tool directional angle is controlled by the 3d graphics of the tool itself. Thats why I was trying to rotate and then resave it with at3d2. Position and movement is controlled by kmotion properly no matter what combination of rotational axis I work in. So that's working fine.

Got it using version Art of Illusion 3

Export VRML no compression checked no subdivide checked

Posted a photo to show
Thanks
