Subject: Setting up KmotionCNC
Hi All,

I am finally at the point of setting up the axis on my Kflop/Kanalog.

I wired up the encoders and servo amplifiers. Ran some pretty basic tuning. Then, I started setting p KmotionCNC and ran into something I can't figure out.

I go in at set the counts per inch to 20,000. Then, I get a G-code command to go 1 inch and execute. The KmotionCNC shows it moved one inch. But, if I go into Kmotion and verify the encoder pulses, it only moved 788 pulses.

There seems to be something wrong with the way I am setting this up in KmotionCNC but I am not sure where to start. Any ideas on how to start troubleshooting this?

Thanks,
Ryan

Sounds like you are in mm rather than inches.

Just ran in to say that's what it was. I guess KmotionCNC defaults back to mm when I reopen it. Any way around that?

Thanks,
Ryan

I had a very similar situation a day or two ago and that's exactly what the problem turned out to be.

Hi Ryan,

There is a Setting File specified in:

KMotionCNC | Tool Setup | Tool/Setup Files | Setup File

You can edit it or change it to the MM.set file example.

See the length_units Attribute.
