Subject: Pendants and Jogging
I'm having trouble understanding how to make things move, and the APIs seem strange to me. For example, Jog has arguments for the axis to jog, and the velocity, but how do you tell it which direction to jog? I've tried MoveRelAtVel, but can only get it to move in one direction, even if I specify a negative value for the second argument. What is the function of chn->Dest? It appears to indicate the current position for the axis?

I sure seem to be asking a lot of questions....

Ray L.

Hi Ray,

To Jog in the negative direction specify a negative velocity.

A negative relative move should move in the negative direction so I don't understand why it isn't.

The "Dest" for an axis is the commanded destination or the desired position. Which is different from the actual measured "Position" of an axis.
