Hi Ray, I haven't heard of any problems, but have not tried it myself. Please let us know how it goes. Regards TK

Tom,
I'm not making any progress. I tried the trick Gerald posted, to get KMotion to install under Win8, but it doesn't work for me. I get the very first installer dialog, click OK, the dialog goes away, and that's all she wrote. Nothing else happens. The process is exiting, as when I go into task manager afterwards, there is no process running.
Any ideas? Really not liking Win8 very much....
Regards,
Ray L.

I only need to be able to rebuild the Interpreter, and my app, and would like to switch to VS2012 Express if possible. I'm sure my app is not a problem.

Hi Ray,
Is your issue with the Install Shield Installer or with loading the USB device driver? To just install the KMotion Software you can always just copy in the directory from another computer.

Tom,
Seems to the the InstallShield installer. I double-click on the exe, and get the first InstallShield dialog. I click "Next", and get a progress dialog, which takes a few seconds to unzip some files, the goes away. Then there is a "busy" mouse cursor for 30-4 seconds, and that's it. All I want to be able to do is build the Interpreter, and re-build my app - I don't need to actually run KMotion on the Win8 machine. So, if I can just copy all the files from another machine, I'll just do that.
Regards,
Ray L.

I have had the same problem before. There is some conflict with another program that is running. Luckily it is fairly easy to find the conflicting program in Windows 8. Bring up the " Task manager". Click on the details tab. scroll down to the setup.exe. Move the mouse down to the "Analyze wait chain". A pop up window will show the "setup.exe" program and the program that is blocking it from continuing to run. In this same pop up window, select the offending program and click on the end process button in the lower left corner. The setup should resume shortly after this. After you have finished the setup, you may want to reboot to if the process was a service. Unless you know how to start the service back up again.
