I dropped my old windows laptop that was running kmotion CNC

the only think it runs is kmotion cnc and notepad++ with occasional firefox views to download new versions of kmotion. 

has anyone tried this?

I have no experience with it but it certainly sounds like it would work.

There are other versions out there so shopping around might save some money. And the "one problem" mentioned in this article is really not an issue as your needs are stationary rather than portable so always having a keyboard and mouse available is not an issue.
