Subject: Jog at feedrate

Hi all,

I'm wondering whether it's possible to have the jog buttons or keys to jog the machine at the specified feedrate.

The reason being is that if I wanted to do simple tasks like facing off a part, It would be nice to set the feedrate, and just jog the machine around.

Right now i've been using the 'Jog speed slow %' to get the feedrate right, which involves calculating the feedrate, instead of specifying it.

Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks,

Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,

I can think of two approaches:

#1 - KFLOP to KMotionCNC commands to apply a Jog Speed Override are supported.  This would allow you to create a User Button to prompt the Operator for the desired "Feedrate" and then automatically set the Jog Speed Override to set that speed.  See the attached User Programs.

#2 Change the KMotionCNC GUI.  Troy created a tutorial on how to add a Slow Jog Rate % to the main KMotionCNC screen.  Your requirement would be very similar.
