Can someone please tell me how can I slow down the Rapids G0 without slowing down the whole machine?

Thanks

Hi,

If you are using KMotionCNC G0 Rapids use the Settings in KFLOP for Velocity, Acceleration, and Jerk.  The units are in Steps (or counts) and seconds.  Changing those should have no effect on G1, G2, G3 coordinated motions.

But when I change those values then the whole program is slowing down, not only the rapids.

That should not be the case unless we are miss-understanding each other.  What application are you running?  What Version?  What Parameters are you changing?  What are the values?  What are your Trajectory Planner settings?  What GCode are you running?  What speeds are you observing?  Please put more effort into your question.

Here are pictures. How can I slow down G0 without slowing down G1, G2, G3

I inserted pictures from other machines to show how rapids are controlled :D with percents...

Hi,

So you are looking for a separate FRO for Rapids?

Would it be ok to have a small (1~2 sec) delay before the FRO has an effect?

Tom,
I know your reply was not directed to me, but your question brought up something I was going to suggest as a future idea.

That is being able to have a settable or FRO for Rapids and Jogs. It would be nice to be able to turn a handwheel or potentiometer to adjust the jog speed and while we are at it why not be able to override the rapid. It can help save a crashed machine on the first run of a new program.

Fyi
If you run mach3 and have a pokeys, this can be done with a potentiometer. It is a bit delayed, but still very useful if ... Planned ahead. (There is a 1-2 second-ish delay). This method only works on only g0 though

I have not run this setup on a kflop as I have just installed it and I am still setting up my kflop. I am planning on trying to install this pot again though.

Would a Rapid/Feed selector like shown in the attached image be ok?

You would only be able to see and adjust one at a time, but another slider and cell would require a lot of screen area.

Yes please can you make it like on the picture so we can control the rapids becasuse we crashed the machine too many times

Please make it...

I use HSM works, the post processor can replace G0 with G1 F### where you specify the feed rate,  I think most post processors have that functionality.

You could also search and replace G0 for G1 F##.

Is there a reason why this isn't a viable solution?

Just thinking out loud here. But, i wonder if it would be easier (C programming wise) to have an option to lock Rapids and Feeds to same FRO slider or another option to set the one FRO slider to Rapids or Feeds?
I dont know how to do this, only an idea.

Hi easydigisoft,

Sorry for all the delays. It turned out more difficult than expected.  We are working on documenting it now.  We should have something soon.
