Subject: Help Getting Started
I have a mill with 3 axis. I am using Kflop, & Kanalog.
My Motors are Brushed servos, and +/- 10 vdc drives. I have glass scales for encoders.
When I go to the Configuration screen I am lost. under axis mode (Input) I selected encoder (Output) DO I SELECT DC SERVO or DAC SERVO? what is the difference? I have tried several different settings but cannot get it to work. I have tried Init3Analog.c when I down loaded it my X axis moved to the right till I disabled the drive. Is this a good file to start with? I am looking to at least be able to jog my axis Kmotion

At the moment I have no limit switches wired. If the init file has these already then I can wire them to Kanalog JP15

I am sure these questions may seem dumb to most but they are real problems for me.

Regards, Steve

Hi Steve,

To send the Servo Output to the Kanalog DACs select DAC SERVO.  (DC Servo is for a DC Motor connected to SnapAmp).

For Kanalog there is an example starting configuration called: KanalogInitialPID.mot

Load that as a starting point using the Config Screen | Load Channel.

First get your axis configured and tuned using the KMotion Screens (Config, Step Response, Filters) before creating a C Program.

Test that your Amplifier is driving by using DAC commands on the Console (ie DAC0=200).

Test whether your Encoder is working by observing the Axis Screen

Then Enable the Servo.

HTH

TK
