Subject: Axis home/zero w/ Mach3?
Hi All!

I started to set up my homing routines. The spindle now homes nicely to the encoder Z but problem is that Mach sets the axis zero at the beginning of homing.

How do I pass the axis zero to mach at the end of homing routine?

Tapio

Hi Tapio,

If you are physically at your desired machine zero position, then the normal procedure is to disable the axis, set the encoder to zero, then enable the axis at the same destination as the encoder reading.  So:

DisableAxis(2);
ch2->Position=0;
EnableAxisDest(2,ch2->Position);

Hi Tom,

And this will also set Mach axis DRO to zero?

Hi Tapio,

I don't think so.  It will definitely make the Mach3 Machine coordinates Zero.  If the Mach3 DRO is displaying Work Coordinates and there is a Work Offset or G92 offset then the DRO will not display zero.  Try the methods described here:
